SIVAKUMAR SARAVAN
Sivakumar Saravan, Executive Director and Head of Tax at Crowe Horwath Singapore, has 20 years of experience in tax compliance and consultancy including advising on appropriate holding company structures, tax implications of employee mobility, mergers & acquisitions and transfer pricing issues for multinational companies. Siva has conducted numerous seminars and workshops for tax and finance professionals in areas such as withholding tax, permanent establishment, interpretation of tax treaties and employee taxation.  As a member of Crowe Horwath International Tax Committee, he assists in the formulation and implementation of global tax strategies.  Siva is a member of The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators. He is also an Accredited Tax Advisor (Corporate Tax) of the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals, Singapore.

RICHARD MACKENDER
Richard Mackender, Partner of Indirect Tax (GST), leads Deloitte’s GST Service Line in Singapore and also is responsible for Indirect tax compliance within Deloitte’s Global Tax Centre Asia, which is based in Singapore and which provides coordinated regional compliance services for some of Deloitte’s largest clients. He has more than 18 years of Indirect Tax experience serving both local and multinational companies in Asia Pacific and the UK. Richard advises companies on the GST treatment of their transactions, both locally and in other Asia Pacific jurisdictions. He has provided Indirect Tax consultancy services to many companies in Singapore and the region, for example advising on the GST treatment of products and carrying out GST reviews. He also assists with their Indirect Tax compliance matters.

SUM YEE LOONG
Sum Yee Loong, FCCA (UK), CTA (UK), MSc (Taxation & Public Finance) (UK), CA (Singapore), has more than 30 years of tax experience. He is currently Professor of Accounting (Practice) at the Singapore Management University, Honorary Technical Advisor (Tax) of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), chairman of the examinations and curriculum committee of the Singapore Tax Academy, Board member and member of the examinations committee of Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Practitioners and Learning and Assessment Committee of the Singapore Qualification Programme under the Singapore Accounting Commission.

TAN HOW TECK
Tan How Teck received his MTax from Sydney Law School. He teaches taxation at Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) and Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (SIATP).

JIMMY OEI
Jimmy Oei, L.L.B. (Hons) (NUS), LL.M. (Tax) (London), Advocate & Solicitor, Singapore, is currently a tax consultant and also holding appointment as a tax director in a local accounting firm. He has more than 25 years of tax experience and his expertise includes corporate and expatriate tax advisory, international tax issues covering transfer pricing, tax treaty and tax optimisation. His exposure to different industries equips him with the experience and flexibility to address each client’s unique challenges. He is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law and the Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals.

SOWMYA VARADHARAJAN
Dr Sowmya Varadharajan is a Director at IC Advisors Pte Ltd. Having been trained in the U.S. on international tax and transfer pricing issues through blue-chip corporations, Sowmya now applies her transfer pricing training to transfer pricing issues in the Asia Pacific region. Sowmya has extensive experience in the high technology/semiconductor as well as pharmaceutical/biomedical industries. In addition to transfer pricing, Sowmya is also skilled in IP valuation. With the growth in transfer pricing related audits in the Asia Pacific region, Sowmya has assisted clients in many countries in defending their transfer pricing arrangements with tax authorities.

NG ENG JUAN
Associate Professor Ng Eng Juan is a fellow of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), and was a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). He has had many years of working experience in a Big Four public accounting firm. Prof Ng is currently with the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, teaching Financial Accounting subjects in the B Acc and MBA programmes. (He will be Associate Professor with UniSIM from October 2016). Over the years, he has won several teaching awards. He also conducts regular continuing professional education programmes for delegates from China, Malaysia and Singapore. Prof Ng’s current research interests are in the area of accounting standards and practices. He has published more than 70 professional journal articles and authored more than 30 professional accounting books.

CHONG KOOI WAH
Chong Kooi Wah is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). She started her career in public accounting and in her tenure with Andersen and Ernst & Young, she had extensive experience in providing audit, assurance and business advisory services.  She was also heavily involved in the training, technical and recruitment functions of the firms where she had served in the professional standards groups and had played a key role in the implementation and enhancement of auditing methodology and tools. At the professional level, she has served in the MICPA working group for exposure drafts on Insurance Contracts. She has also acted as facilitator for MICPA Examination workshops. She is currently a course instructor with Nanyang Technological University.

HO KOK YONG
Ho Kok Yong has more than 22 years of public accounting experience serving as an Audit Partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP. Kok Yong leads Deloitte’s Financial Services Industry in SEA and is responsible for its strategy and direction. He specialises in the audit of financial institutions and also leads IFRS implementation projects. Kok Yong is an IFRS technical specialist and regularly speaks at seminars. He is a Singapore CA, US CISA, UK CA and Australian CA. He also serves as a member on ISCA Banking and Finance Committee and is an Examiner for ISCA Professional Examinations and Assessor for ISCA Foundation Paper. Kok Yong is also an Adjunct Associate Professor with Nanyang Technological University and sits on the Singapore International Mediation Centre’s Panel of Technical Experts.

HOW CHIN HONG, AYLWIN
Aylwin How is an IFRS Technical Senior Manager with Deloitte’s Financial Services Industry in SEA, and is a subject matter expert in financial instruments accounting and valuation. He specialises in audits of financial institutions, as well as accounting advisory projects, including IFRS implementation. Aylwin speaks regularly at seminars and is currently a course instructor with Nanyang Technological University. He is also a Chartered Accountant with ISCA.

VICTOR C S YEO
Victor C S Yeo is currently an Associate Professor and Head of the Business Law Division at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University. Prior to joining the University, Victor was in legal practice doing general commercial and corporate litigation at one of Singapore’s largest law firms. He continues to practise in the areas of corporate law and securities regulation. Victor has co-authored several books and has also contributed chapters to various books relating to corporate law and has published in this area in academic and professional journals. In addition, he has been invited to contribute papers to efforts such as the OECD Asian Roundtable on Corporate Governance and has given numerous presentations at seminars and conferences on corporate law and corporate governance.

JOYCE LEE SUET LIN
Lee Suet Lin Joyce is an Associate Professor with the Division of Business Law at the Nanyang Business School (NBS) and an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. She was practising law in one of the largest law firms in Singapore prior to joining academia. At NBS, Joyce teaches Company Law and Corporate Finance Law. Joyce has published in international refereed journals. Her principal areas of research are Company Law and Securities Regulation.
